Te Atawhai Aroha is facilitating a public forum at Te Aka Mauri / Rotorua Library on Thursday July 23rd from 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Although we acknowledge that these conversations are never easy, talking about suicide as a community can help break down the silence, stigma, and isolation that so often surround it. Open, compassionate conversations create opportunities for people to feel seen, heard, and supported before they reach a point of crisis. By learning how to recognise the signs, listen without judgement, and connect people with help, we can foster a community where no one feels they have to face their struggles alone. Every conversation has the potential to offer hope and remind someone that their life matters.
If you or your whānau have experienced or know someone that has been affected by a suicide or unexpected death, we offer an inclusive safe space to hear experts and first responders talk about their roles in the community.
All are welcome.
